La parte terminale della Valle Antrona è occupata dall’omonimo lago, creato da un’immensa frana caduta dal monte sovrastante nel 1642. Dal 1920 il Lago di Antrona è entrato a far parte del sistema di bacini per la produzione di energia elettrica: ad esso è collegato il sovrastante bacino di Campliccioli, il cui contenimento è affidato ad una diga dell’altezza di 80 metri. Da Antrona Piana si raggiunge il Lago di Antrona per poi salire al bacino di Campliccioli, di cui si può compiere in circa due ore l’intero perimetro. Si rientra ad Antrona con il sentiero che passa dall’Alpe Ronco.
