La 56° edizione del TrentoFilmfestival, il più antico ed acclamato festival internazionale di film dedicati alla montagna, all'esplorazione e all'avventura, si svolgerà a Trento dal 22 aprile al 4 maggio 2008, con la direzione artistica di Maurizio Nichetti.
Il programma presenta una ricca selezione di film, fiction e documentari che spaziano dai temi e le vicende più strettamente legati alla montagna e all'alpinismo, fino a quelli ambientali, sociali e storici.
Il TrentoFilmfestival è alla continua ricerca di opere ed autori in grado di raccontare in modi sempre nuovi ed originali gli uomini e gli spazi della montagna e dell'avventura, sia attraverso film narrativi sia attraverso reportage giornalistici, cortometraggi o documentari. Oltre alla sezione Concorso internazionale sono previste le sezioni Fuori Concorso, Sezioni informative, Omaggi e retrospettive, Programmi speciali.
La manifestazione prevede infine incontri, mostre, spettacoli e “MontagnaLibri”, la rassegna internazionale dell’editoria di montagna
